Q. So what exactly do you believe?

A. There are so many ways to answer that question, but I’ll just start with this: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whosoever believes in him will not die, but live forever.”John 3:16. We believe that we are sinful, and do not deserve God’s love. We are not capable of living pure holy lives without Him. Since we are not holy and without blame, we can not go to heaven. Even if you are a good person and go to church every Sunday etc. you still can’t get to heaven on your own. On the contrary, we were once all under a death penalty. There was a price to be paid, but we didn’t fit the bill. Someone without sin would have to take our punishment onto his shoulders. That person was God’s son, Jesus. He loves us so much that he was willing to have nails driven into his hands and feet, pinning him to a cross. He was willing to be beaten and spit upon for us. All because of love. We believe that on the third day after his death, he was resurrected. He defeated death, so that we could be with him forever in heaven.
