We have found that, over our many visits, we have acquired a vast collection of adages and sayings. Here is one that we have found to be particularly true:
” When you’re a Baker, stepping outside is a death wish.”
This has proved itself through many accidents in the past. For instance, the visit before last ended in a car wreck. We were just driving, parallel to another car, when the lady in the car decided to turn ….. right into us. I’m not kidding! It’s like, she looked over at us and said ” Hey, they’re Bakers! Get ‘em! ” Another incident happened on the first day of our latest visit. Charlotte and I, (Jessica), were going shopping. As we got onto the parkway, this suicidal gang of motorcyclists tried to hit us. One nearly skimmed the car, forcing Charlotte to swerve and almost hit the car next to us. We were shaken, to say the least. After pondering these ” isolated ” accidents, it was then, we could finally feel confident in our theory that being a Baker is one of the most dangerous jobs on the planet.
